AT&T has teamed up with the Boston Athletic Association in a new TMA-concepted program that gives runners and fans a unique way to show their passion for one of the nation’s most beloved marathons. The #ItsOurBoston digital mosaic curates supportive videos and photos of Bostonians, marathoners and fans from around the globe.
Through the website ItsOurBoston.com, race participants—both past and present—can upload video diaries or photos with special messages attached to help create an online portrait that sets the backdrop of the city’s skyline. People visiting the site can scroll over the colored parts of the mosaic and read each submission, helping them get a sense of what it’s like to train for an epic 26.2-mile run.
AT&T, which has been a marathon sponsor for the last six years, will contribute $1 to The One Fund Boston for each of the first 10,000 submissions.
On March 31, AT&T went to market with a vehicle around New England equipped with AT&T devices to record video or capture photos. Fans nationally were encouraged to upload photos through the website, Twitter or Instagram using the hashtag #ItsOurBoston to have their images weaved into the digital billboard.
From April 13 to April 17, AT&T will tour college campuses, running clubs, sport events, and other local destinations along the marathon route to collect additional mosaic submissions. In addition, AT&T will have a photo/video booth at the Boston Marathon Expo where fans can contribute to the mosaic.
