TMA Staff Help Keep AT&T Centers Running In Boston Marathon Aftermath

In the chaos following the explosions at the Boston Marathon finish line, AT&T clients and TMA staff stayed by the AT&T Communication Centers to handle the heavy demand for mobile devices and power.

As part of   AT&T’s sponsorship activity at the 117th Boston Marathon, TMA operated three Communication Centers within the Family Meeting Area located past the finish line.  Each center provided mobile phones and chargers for runners and family to make calls, texts and charge their devices.

Multiple charging strips were used to makeshift charging stations at these areas.  After the Family Meeting Area was evacuated, TMA helped AT&T deploy devices and phone chargers to the Boston Common, Sheraton Hotel and Command Center at the request of the Boston Athletic Association.  AT&T also opened wireless access to customers of other phone services.

Thank you to the TMA staff (  Christina Jarmolowski,   Heather John,   Heather Cohen, Jim Gant, and Field Manager Stan Cruz) who showed bravery by helping keep AT&T’s Communication Centers remain up and running in the aftermath; long enough for people to make those important calls to loved ones.  Our thoughts are with those affected by the events at the Boston Marathon.
