This year’s Mistake at the Break was an epic day of fun in the sun. TMA’s LA office headed to a multi-million dollar beachfront house with the largest party deck we could find. TMA’ers were greeted with a Hawaiian lei and directed to the bar where they could enjoy one of our custom cocktails: The Bloody Larry, Lew’s Malibu Screwdriver, or Terry’s Tropical Punch.
With drinks in hand , you could then join the tournament games that included Flip Cup, Beer Pong, and Cornhole. People who were adventurous enough to traverse the rocks and wade in the water, tossed the football back and forth with Chris Salicrup and Ben Azarraga.
If you just wanted to chill, the deck was stocked with lifeguard-style chairs or you could float inside the home’s living room where two incredibly comfortable chairs provided you with an ocean view that would leave you relaxed and thinking about how lucky you were to be alive.
The food was incredible, as always. It’s LA, so of course it had to be healthy. Grilled vegetables, chicken drizzled with Chimichirri sauce, fingerling potatoes and Farro salad with spinach and cranberries had us all going back for seconds, and thirds. Late day munchies were satiated with amazing homemade cookies which we all carried back out on to the deck to watch the dance party — highlighted by Kenny Barela’s breakdancing exhibition.
As the tide came in and the sun began to set, lots of toasts and cheers to Brad Penman for putting our party together, Lily Beth Boenker for hand ling all the planning and logistics, Katie Sheffer for organizing all our activities, and to Courtney Davidson for getting scrappy and hand screening Mistake at the Break t-shirts.
What a day and we’re counting the days until the next TMA LA Party! Now watch how good we are at Beer Pong and check out all of the pictures on the TMA Flickr page!
