We take education pretty seriously at TMA. Besides our regular In Tha’ Know and Trend Train sessions, employees are able to regularly enroll in a number of career development classes (we even have our own fast track to success, Steps to Greatness). But in addition to these offerings we have another lesser known internal education program that, until now, was only known to some inside the agency: MentorUp.
Originally created to provide leaders with the education they need to compete effectively in the digital world, MentorUp pairs the younger digerati in our agency with senior leadership. Together, the digerati “mentor up” to the leaders to keep them in the know on the latest in digital. But MentorUp is no “Facebook 101/Twitter best practices” half day workshop, nor is it a “dip your toe in the water” approach to education. Instead, both mentors and mentees are encouraged to take the full plunge into digital by committing one hour a month to studying, learning, and applying what’s current to their business. To date, there have been over 920 hours of education covering bleeding edge developments in the digital space.
This year, we’re opening up the curriculum for all to see. Most of the material for the the inaugural session event enhancers was inspired by the technology and buzz discovered at this year’s SXSW. But enough talking about MentorUp– check out the first session for yourself, event enhancers, at its fresh new home.
