Vehicle crashes are the leading cause of death for young Americans, and with Memorial Day approaching we are heading into the “100 Deadliest Days” for teen drivers on the road. July and August are the deadliest months for 16- and 17-year-old drivers, according to the AAA Foundation for Traffic Safety.
AT&T has shared some even more sobering statistics:
- Drivers are 23 times more likely to get in an accident while texting
- 100,000 crashes occur every year involving drivers who are texting
- 75% of teens say texting & driving is “common” among their friends
