In today’s social media and streaming environment, it only takes one big role for up-and-comers to become overnight sensations.

For many Millennials and Gen Zers, this includes watching their social following quickly grow from a few thousand to millions of people anticipating their next posts.

TMA tracks trends and shows such as Riverdale and Stranger Things to predict which new talent will become big names.

Check out some of the recent actors and actresses on our radar.

Margaret Qualley has been highly praised for her work in smaller productions and miniseries. In 2019, she earned an Emmy nomination for her work in the FX miniseries Fosse/Verdon. Since appearing in the award-winning film, Once Upon a Time in Hollywood, Margaret has garnered much attention for her bold fashion choices. She has received many “Best Dressed” nominations and has landed the covers of highly acclaimed publications including Vogue, W, Women’s Wear Daily, Vanity Fair, and E!. We think you’ll be seeing even more of Margaret this year.

Florence Pugh has been working nonstop since winning the British Independent Film Award for best actress. A rising star, she’s appearanced in Midsommar, Lady Macbeth, Little Women, and The Falling, and grabbed the attention of Vanity Fair in 2018. Pugh currently occupies a coveted spot on the 2019 Forbes 30 under 30 list, and was nominated for Best Supporting Actress at the 2020 Oscars. In addition to her other coveted roles earlier in 2019, Pugh will be joining the Marvel Cinematic Universe, starring as Yelena Belova in Black Widow. We see big things ahead for Florence.

Zane Holtz was born in Vancouver, where he began modeling at the age of five. He starred in his first commercial at age 10, and has since held leading roles in The Perks of Being A Wallflower, From Dusk till Dawn: The Series, and ABC Family’s Make It or Break It. Zane currently stars in the highly anticipated new series Katy Keene alongside Pretty Little Liars star Lucy Hale. The series is a spinoff of the heavily admired Riverdale and has received impressive reviews since its release in early February. Zane is one to keep an eye on!

Lakeith Stanfield is an actor and rapper born in Victorville, Cali., and one of the more known actors on this list. His role in the 2008 remake of Short Term 12 kickstarted his acting career. He later landed roles in Selma, Straight Outta Compton, Atlanta, and Netflix’s Someone Great. He has been featured in many Oscar-nominated films, the most recent being Knives Out. In February 2020, Stanfield starred in the film The Photograph alongside actress Issa Rae, and has since graced the covers of GQ, ET and Essence. His roles are only becoming more consistent during this breakout moment and more and more people are starting to know his name. And, that’s a trend we see continuing with no end in sight.

Lewis Pullman is the son of Bill Pullman, whose credits include many movies and TV shows including USA’s The Sinner. We have seen Lewis in Hulu’s Catch-22 and films such as The Strangers: Prey at Night, Bad Times at the El Royale, and Battle of the Sexes. Lewis landed a role in the highly-anticipated sequel of Top Gun: Maverick which is set to release in June 2020. Lewis is not stopping there; he is also expected to star in Pink Skies Ahead, which is currently in pre-production. Keep your eyes out for a lot more from Lewis.

Richard Ellis is a name you might not be familiar with… yet. He acted and produced the short comedy film Two Introverts in 2017 and since has landed roles on the shows Truth Be Told and the Veronica Mars reboot.
