TMA’s State Farm team has been…well, busy. With six different activations occurring over a 3-day period (Friday, August 3 – Sunday, August 5) we were rockin’ & rollin’ over the weekend helping fans Get to a Better State all over the Midwest and beyond. We began in Chicago, where Amy Erschen, Kim Clark and newbie Carolina Salcedo (plus our wonderful client crew) kicked-off a Hispanic partnership with the J.LO and Enrique tour at the United Center.
J.LO & Enrique: On Thursday, the team activated a buzz event in a highly targeted Hispanic area in Chicago where consumers could dance to win a chance for tickets and meet-and -greets to meet J.LO and Enrique Iglesias for the concert taking place the next day in Chicago. Then on Friday onsite at the concert, consumers could text to screen to show their love for J.LO and Enrique, take photos, get premiums and enter in the sweepstakes to meet J.LO and Enrique at the final tour date in Miami. All of this is part of State Farm’s sponsorship of the tour.
Meanwhile, Kelly Hellner and Johnny Fitzsimmons were downtown at Grant Park doing final prep for State Farm’s Lollapalooza activation, which ran Friday – Sunday.
Lollapalooza: The State Farm Bag Check was a huge hit. While fans enjoyed the shows, State Farm watched their stuff. In addition to helping out fans with their heavy bags, State Farm instituted a “spotter” program and provided VIP upgrades, after show tickets, and popular sunglass premiums. Talk about helping fans Get to a Better State!
And that was just Friday. By Saturday morning, Stephanie Wysocki had made her way to Bay City, Michigan to shoot with Scotty McCreery at the 2012 Pig Gig.
Celebrate My Drive Shoot: State Farm has partnered with Scotty McCreery as a national spokesperson for a new teen driver safety initiative called Celebrate My Drive. On Saturday, the Davie Brown Entertainment team shot exclusive content with Scotty at the annual Pig Big BBQ festival in Bay City, Michigan. It didn’t take long for the word to spread that Scotty was in town, as hordes of teenage girls started creeping toward the production crew — kinda like zombies. Scotty took a break to pose for pictures, sign autographs, and told his fans to join the CMD Facebook page!
Go To Bat Ballpark Events: To kick off the Go To Bat ballpark buzz events, the team activated at the Chicago White Sox stadium and was able to register a whopping 450 new consumers for the Go To Bat promotion! The teams also generated buzz by distributing 3,000 hand fans that drove consumers to Go To Bat for one of four major charities including American Red Cross, Teach for America, Habitat for Humanity and Boys and Girls Club of America.
And we weren’t done yet. Tiffany Moore and Lura Hobbs were in Las Vegas pulling off the Hoodie Awards sponsorship.
Hoodies: In its 3rd year activating at the Hoodie Awards, State Farm has extended its partnership to title sponsorship of the Freedom Friday Event. Onsite, State Farm got consumers to a better state via VIP prizing, photo marketing and celebrity appearances by John Legend and Cheryl Underwood. State Farm also concluded the Sing Your Way to the Hoodies promotion where three contestants were flown to Las Vegas to compete for a recording contract.
